Achievements and Accolades

Social worker and the current President of Servants of India Society, Damodar Sahoo, was conferred with the Swami Harihar Ram Sevaratna Award in 2015 in recognition of his selfless service for the upliftment of downtrodden people. Sahoo, who was the State branch secretary of the Servants of India Society, has dedicated his life to social work and community service.

Mention in Planning Commission Reports

The Servants of India Society has been mentioned in several Planning Commission reports for its contributions to social and economic development in India. 

 

In the Second Five-Year Plan (1956-61), the Planning Commission acknowledged the Servants of India Society's role in rural development and its efforts to promote education and sanitation in villages. The report recognized the society's contributions in training workers and volunteers for community development work.

 

The society was also mentioned in the Third Five-Year Plan (1961-66), which emphasized the importance of community development and social welfare programs. The Planning Commission recognized the Servants of India Society's efforts in promoting rural development and community participation in various development programs.

 

In the Sixth Five-Year Plan (1980-85), the Planning Commission highlighted the society's contributions to the establishment of the Community Development Program in India. The report noted that the society had trained thousands of community development workers and volunteers, who had played a crucial role in the success of the program.
